AJE Guatemala
As one of the founding members of AJE Guatemala back in August of 2004, one of our contributions was the set up of the website, application form creation (in PDF) and later on, the addition of Facebook pages and Twitter.
Design Backslash (merged with Asterisco*)
My personal blog, and this is where I write about my latest input on design, business, starting your own business as a freelancers, macs, music, blogging, social networking, anything that comes around with being a designer/photographer freelancer in the world.
EPI Foods Catering
EPI Foods’s owner, Chef Edith Paiz approached us looking for a site that would not only give out information about the business but also sell the catering service for her. This meant pictures and an easy to navigate site, with a few menu ideas and most important, a site that would be fast to browse. We came up with the idea of using the iconic flower from the letter i from her logo as the favicon for her site. Also, she wanted a place in the front page to announce the partnership with woohoo! experience and their Facebook Page.
Grupo NISA
When we met with Grupo Nisa, the main purpose for their site was clear: serve as an online catalog for their sales force and as a guide for their clients when placing an order. They didn’t want prices advertised, so we kept them out. We’ve been adding more products and updating content as they become available.
Prepressology
After a revamp to his business, Jake Van Ness approached Asterisco to revamp Prepressology’s site. We came up with the idea of making this site 100% WordPress. This would allow him to generate constant and different content on his site, not only as blog posts but as portfolio updates. We kept the same structure from his old site, adding links for his Facebook Page, Twitter and Flickr accounts, as well as an updated list that he updates on what he’s reading.
The Foodies’ Kitchen
Early in 2010, Helga Blanding-Glaesel and I decided to start a blog to showcase our cooking. We both have a passion for cooking, so when April 2010 came, we decided that we wanted to start a cooking blog. The design and technical side would be in charge of Astersico. We developed the logo, color scheme, site and branding for the blog, Facebook page and Twitter account.
Rookie Designer
One of the first podcasts I ever listened to was Rookie Designer by Adam Hay. Back in May 2011, Adam passed the rains of the podcast to Jake Van Ness and myself. As part of the change, we decided that Asterisco would do a complete revamp of the logo and the site. Additional to the podcast, there’s a blog feed and integration with Facebook, Twitter and iTunes.
