So, about a week ago I was watching the Sony Channel. They play music videos in between shows, currently playing I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, Take by the City by Snow Patrol and Let it Out by a UK band called Ben’s Brother. I’ve heard the two first songs, and being a fan of Mraz and Snow Patrol, I’ve already seen them. When Let it Out started showing, the lyrics caught my attention: “You sit and you stare and you wait and you wonder/ You think ‘Maybe it’s me and I’m being a fool’/ You start to believe it’s a curse that you’re under/ and you’re just a doll for a girl who is cruel/ With a pin” . Proceeded to download the album from the iTunes store (link here). It was released back in November 2007.
Checking their site, I learned that they are actually working on a new album, called Q&A for the moment. Jason Mraz and Joss Stone contribute to the album singing duets with the band, and also Pete Gordeno from Depeche mode is making a special appearance on back vocals. Judging by the Beta Male Fairytales album (iTunes store link), I’m thinking that this is a band to have on the loop. The lyrics are amazing and Jamie Hartman’s voice is amazing, it has a Rod Stewart air to it.
